Amanda Otte serves as the Research Associate for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). In this role, she supports the CCEE team in providing research-based advice and technical assistance to school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education.
Prior to joining the CCEE, Ms. Otte served as a Research Associate for the Standards, Assessment, and Accountability Services program at WestEd. In this role, she provided research and content expertise to projects focused on the development and evaluation of early childhood assessments, lead meetings with stakeholder groups, provided project management services, facilitated professional development sessions related to building educator assessment literacy, and contributed to research and technical assistance projects for the Center on Standards & Assessment and Implementation (CSAI).
Ms. Otte has also served as a classroom teacher in California. She worked as part of teaching teams for children ages 2–5 at Bing Nursery School, a psychology-focused laboratory school in Stanford, CA. After earning her Master of Arts degree, she taught kindergarten at Rocketship Mosaic Elementary School, a charter school in the Franklin-McKinley School District in San Jose, CA. At Rocketship, Ms. Otte served on the school-site council, which involved working with administrators and parent representatives to analyze achievement data and discuss school site issues. She was also a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) lead for the school, which involved analyzing school climate data and supporting teachers in the implementation of new social-emotional curriculum.
Ms. Otte earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Stanford University and her Master of Arts degree in Politics and Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.
