Senior Manager, Outreach and Communications
Ana Tintocalis serves as the Senior Manager of Outreach and Communications for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). In this role, she will help manage media relations and strategic communications internally and externally for the agency.
Before her time with the Collaborative, Tintocalis was an award-winning, veteran education journalist for KQED Public Radio in San Francisco, the Bay Area’s premier NPR member station where she produced in-depth, impactful and provocative education stories spanning the areas of K-12 to higher education in California. Preceding her time in the Bay Area, Tintocalis also reported on education issues in San Diego and Imperial counties, as the education journalist at KPBS Public Radio in San Diego. Tintocalis’ work has garnered the respect and recognition of key education stakeholders across the Golden State including parents, educators, legislators and – most importantly – students.
Mrs. Tintocalis’ passion for education has strong family roots. She was born and raised in Palmdale, where her father spent his entire life teaching sixth grade students as a public-school teacher in the Palmdale Unified School District. Tintocalis’ mother was also an educator, helping English learners in Palmdale Unified as a bilingual aide. Tintocalis a product of the California State University system, graduating with honors from Cal State Long Beach.
Mrs. Tintocalis is honored to continue carrying out her family’s teaching legacy in a new capacity at the CCEE, advocating for and communicating the need of quality public school instruction in California.
