Senior Manager, Training
Tina Ochoa serves as Senior Manager of Training for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, where she will help lead the training and professional development on the relationship between the LCAP and the California School Dashboard.
Ms. Ochoa most recently served as the Curriculum and Professional Development Manager for Families In Schools. She was responsible for standardizing best practices for parent engagement-based training and curriculum development across all program content areas. This included updating and/or developing culturally-relevant curriculum and tools related, but not limited, to: family literacy, English learner reclassification, middle/high school and college transitions, college preparation, financial literacy, and parent leadership/advocacy; developing and field testing training modules, and conducting professional development workshops for school/agency staff and parents, related to research-based parent engagement strategies.
Ms. Ochoa has nearly 15 years of experience in civic engagement, and the training and professional development field. In her role as the Education Program Manager for Citizenship Counts, Program Manager and State Coordinator for the Center for Civic Education, and Master Trainer for the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education, she has been responsible for developing and updating curriculum, coordinating on-going curriculum evaluation, developing seminar and training collaterals, the administration of statewide law related and civic education trainings and programs, developing mentor opportunities, volunteer coordination and management, creating opportunities for professional collaboration between schools, community organizations and civic leaders, and grant administration. She is a graduate from the University of Arizona, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sociology.
