The group is commissioned by law to advise the member school districts of the SELPA regarding provision of services\, annual priorities\, local plan development\, parent education and support\, and other related special education activities. CACs are a dynamic partnership between parents\, educators and community members. CAC members volunteer their service to each district’s governing board\, which then formally appoints\, annually\, a representative to the committee. \nThe CAC meetings begin at 9:30 AM

Using a student-focused\ncoaching model\, these sessions will provide opportunities for\nparticipants to support their sites with the implementation and monitoring\nof their Literacy Plan goals and actions.\nCoaches and Reading Specialists will explore practices tailored to\naddress the unique needs of different contexts. There will be ample time\nfor sharing successes\, collectively solving problems of practice\, and\nnetworking with peers. Through this dynamic and enriching professional\ndevelopment experience\, Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists will\ndeepen their expertise and develop strategies to effectively guide their\nschool sites in achieving their literacy objectives. The collaborative\nnature of the sessions\, including opportunities for networking\, will foster\nthe exchange of ideas and collective problem-solving to drive\ncontinuous improvement in support of student literacy growth.
