SUMMARY:Kindergarten Transition Assessments
DESCRIPTION:Believe it or not\, late fall is the best time to start planning for upcoming spring transitions in preschool. California Education Code 56455 requires that before moving a student from preschool to kindergarten\, a reassessment must be conducted to determine if they still require special education services. But with so many questions about assessments\, timelines\, and how Transitional Kindergarten (TK) impacts this process\, it can get confusing. \nDon’t worry—we’ve got you covered! \nJoin us for a no-cost\, virtual session designed to help IEP teams navigate this important transition with confidence. We’ll break down the intent behind the Education Code\, guiding you to make informed\, legally defensible\, child-centered decisions. You’ll walk away with essential tools\, including decision trees\, templates\, and answers to frequently asked questions. \nGet the clarity you need to support every child’s journey from preschool to elementary. \nClick here to access flyer. \nRegistration link.

SUMMARY:Improvement Science Basics - Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Improvement science is a powerful tool for educators seeking to identify areas of improvement\, implement evidence-based interventions\, and measure progress. Please review the complete course description before submitting your team’s application:  https://bit.ly/ISBOverview25-26.  \nSelected teams will be sent a notification email that includes a link to register for the course. If you have any questions about this professional learning opportunity\, please contact us at info@systemimprovement.org. \n*Please note\, teams with a problem area focused on Students with Disabilities are given priorities with admissions\, but all are welcome to apply. \nClick flyer and here to register.

SUMMARY:Designing Career Technical Education (CTE) for All: Universal Design in the classroom
DESCRIPTION:UDL (Universal Design for Learning) offers a framework to support access\, engagement\, and meaningful participation for CTE (Career Technical Education). This universally designed session will guide participants in exploring how to utilize the UDL framework in CTE classrooms to minimize barriers to access and increase successful outcomes for all learners. \nBy prioritizing access\, variability and building learner agency\, UDL gives practitioners considerations to design classrooms\, courses and CTE pathways where students are at the center of their own learning. Applying the UDL framework to CTE will positively impact the short-term and long-term outcomes for ALL learners. \nIn this session participants will have access to practical tools and guidance to proactively identify and address barriers within their classrooms and courses as well as network with others in the field working to refine and improve CTE within their context. \nClick here to access flyer. \nRegistration link.
