Every piece of data tells a story about a whole child\, including their academic progress\, social-emotional well-being\, physical health\, and the barriers they face. This interactive workshop will equip you and your team with practical strategies to use data as a powerful tool in professional learning and collaboration to improve student outcomes and experience. \nLearning Outcomes:\n\nFocal Student Learning Partnership  Conversations: Learn how to systematically gather street data by selecting focal students and conducting structured conversations that reveal their experiences\, strengths\, and needs across academic\, social-emotional\, and wellness domains. Practice protocols for listening deeply to students who are often misunderstood or overlooked.\nData Digs: Engage in data analysis that uncovers patterns\, challenge biases\, and identify root causes to work alongside\, not against data in professional learning and collaboration.\nCreate a Professional Learning Plan: Integrate data practices that center student voice into your site and system to build collective trust and shared responsibility through protocols that make data conversations safe\, productive\, and focused on continuous improvement rather than evaluation.\n\nWhat to expect:\nThis hands-on workshop will balance practical application with learning. SUMMARY:Understanding Gender Differences in Autism: Implications for Assessment and Identification
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on current research\, we will explore how autism can present differently in boys and girls\, including variations in communication styles\, social behaviors\, mannerisms\, special interests\, and play behaviors. Research shows girls are typically diagnosed later than boys and that our current assessment measures are less sensitive to girls with autism than boys. Participants will examine how these differences may influence assessment practices and contribute to under- or misidentification in special education. Strategies for more equitable and accurate evaluation will be discussed\, with the goal of improving early identification and support for all children with autism. \nRegistration link \nFlyer
