As the 2020-2021 school year comes to a close, the statewide data collection process around LEA instructional modes will be shifting to address some high priority needs. The upcoming May 24 data collection will reflect two changes:
- Beginning in June, the ongoing AB 86 survey (school instructional modes) will include student enrollment counts by school for various summer programs offered by LEAs. As mandated by Assembly Bill 86, LEAs will need to continue submitting this survey even if they are not offering summer programs.
- All sites participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or federal School Breakfast Program (SBP) will need to complete the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) survey, in addition to the ongoing AB 86 survey (school instructional modes). This will be a one-time collection of data to report on their primary mode of instruction by month across the 2020-21 SY. The submission deadline has been extended to 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 8.
To support LEAs with the P-EBT survey (for NSLP & SBP schools), CCEE, in collaboration with the Administration, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the State Board of Education (SBE), and the California Department of Education (CDE), hosted office hours on Wednesday, May 19 from 2:00pm-3:00pm.
