Professional Learning Networks
Working to Promote Innovative Thinking
The CCEE supports Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) which are peer groups that focus on locally identified priorities, needs, challenges and successes with the goal of building a culture of continuous improvement, overcoming systemic issues, and improving student outcomes. The CCEE also supports Professional Learning Exchanges (PLXs) in which PLN facilitators gather to further build their own capacity. PLNs/PLXs use the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the CA School Dashboard as tools for improvement.
CCEE Bridge PLN/PLX Initiative 2019-2020
We are committed to supporting the sustainability of PLNs/PLXs that the CCEE helped to establish. The Bridge PLN/PLX Initiative offers matching funds to PLNs/PLXs that have demonstrated initial success as they prepare to operate autonomously in 2020-21. These networks focus on equity, continuous improvement, and measurement of impact of student-level systems. Bridge PLN/PLX topic areas include:
- Implementation of data systems to monitor mathematics progress
- Addressing key issues disproportionately impacting poor foster youth outcomes
- Identifying root causes of inequities experienced by African American students
