Building Capacity Across the State

Welcome to the CCEE’s Resource Collection! This is our home base for CCEE Toolkits – free, customizable resources that can help your organization expand its support or training. CCEE toolkits are developed in partnership with state agencies, county offices of education (COEs), Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), and nonprofit organizations. Topics are selected based on the emerging needs of educators and education stakeholders in the field. CCEE Equity in Action: A Real-Time Look at What’s Working in California Schools

2019-20 Partnership Highlights Report

This report features four crucial CCEE partnerships that stem from two of the agency’s statewide collaborative efforts: Pilots Partnerships (Pilots) and Professional Learning Networks (PLNs).

Collectively, these partnerships exemplify how educational leaders, teachers and community members are embracing local control and continuous improvement and building capacity to implement their own innovative strategies to create more equitable outcomes for each and every student.

CCEE Pilot Partner Continuous Improvement Toolkit

Resources for LEA’s Continuous Improvement Effort

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Toolkit includes research, activities, and protocols utilized as part of the CCEE’s Pilot Partnership initiative. These resources are intended to build capacity, shape a systems approach to CI, and inform collaborative efforts among state and local agencies. Based in a cycle of inquiry and using the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) model, the cycles introduce new results and challenges, that provide further opportunity for refinement.

CCEE 2019 Pilot Partnership Report

A Journey in Continuous Improvement

This report summarizes CCEE’s Pilot Partnership initiative (2017-2019) which aimed to help 12 LEAs improve student outcomes and enhance equity through continuous improvement. The report also provides an overview of the activities, outcomes, lessons learned, and successes. In addition, the report outlines how the initiative is informing CCEE’s support to LEAs through direct technical assistance.

CCEE Professional Learning Network (PLN) Toolkit

Learn about successes and lessons learned from CCEE’s 2017-19 PLN Initiative. This toolkit includes a report about the initiative, a handbook for entities that are interested in launching PLNs of their own, and spotlight stories of 4 PLNs.

Focusing on Foster Youth: Alliance for Children’s Rights PLN Impact Report

Sponsored by the CCEE, the Alliance for Children’s Rights invited six districts in east Los Angeles County to participate in the Foster Youth Learning Network in 2017. The network’s focus was to build more thoughtful district-level systems for foster youth. This report includes the PLN’s focus, structure, barriers and challenges, evidence of impact, and lessons learned.

Equity in Action: CAAASA’s Professional Learning Network Impact Report

Sponsored by the CCEE, the California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA) formed a network comprised of four districts and three county offices of education. This report details the network’s two-year study identifying barriers and evidence-based solutions to improve African American achievement in California. The report also outlines 13 recommendations for state policymakers and educational leaders to consider.

Improving Performance of Students with Disabilities

Learn about improvement processes to support students with disabilities through a series of online web modules. The resources feature self-paced videos, the Improving Performance of Students with Disabilities Handbook, downloadable presentation slides, and handouts.

The Improving Performance of Students with Disabilities Handbook was developed by the El Dorado County Office of Education and the Sacramento County Office of Education for publication by the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA). Differentiated Assistance (DA) Toolkit

Understand the Differentiated Assistance (DA) process through the experiences of education leaders who are embracing this kind of extra support. DA is an important component of California’s new approach to school improvement. This toolkit includes a 30-minute podcast episode and liner notes for deeper learning and reflection.
