California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE)

Special Circumstance: Wraparound Support (AB 1840)

Coordination of Support

When the CCEE provides Wraparound Support to a district, the goal for our agency is to coordinate customized support via a Hub and Spoke Model in which the CCEE, California Department of Education (CDE), county office of education (COE), and content/professional experts assemble around the Local Educational Agency (LEA) and work alongside local educators to pinpoint the appropriate level of support, implement actions, monitor progress and measure impact.

The following is an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Hub and Spoke model.

The HUB: The CCEE Lead or Designee

  • Collects data
  • Designs the SIR process
  • Identifies team members or “Spokes”
  • Coordinates support
  • Establishes communication methods
  • Facilitates check-ins
  • Manages progress reporting
  • Reviews final document(s) i.e. SIR Report

The SPOKES: Team members or Content Experts

  • Identify “best practices”
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Produce progress reports
  • Write final document(s) i.e. SIR Report
  • Provide ongoing communication
  • Determine level of support needed based on SIR recommendations
