CCEE Priorities for 2024
Date: January 24, 2024
Minimizing Friction within the Statewide System of Support (SSOS):
The CCEE will focus on reducing friction within the SSOS. By friction we mean, building out collaboration, coordination, and integration efforts across the state. The SSOS is about identifying inefficiencies across the state and addressing them. By focusing on fostering system goals of coordination, collaboration, and integration across the SSOS the CCEE will be able to promote more open communication across state-lead agencies, remove bureaucratic hurdles, and allow educators and administrators to access resources that allow them to focus more on student needs and building instructional excellence.
Prioritize continuous improvement:
Continuous improvement is about aiming to maximize value while minimizing wasteful efforts. This focus encourages educators, administrators, and stakeholders to assess and refine systems, processes, and practices continually. It involves regularly seeking feedback, analyzing data, and adapting strategies to ensure optimal student learning outcomes. The CCEE will prioritize this approach as we support our overall goal of advising and assisting LEAs in accomplishing their LCAP goals by helping them reshape educational approaches and improvement.
Student-Centered Approaches through a statewide universal/targeted and intensive approach:
By uniting efforts around the statewide universal, targeted, and intensive supports and services, we can align statewide, county, and local educational agency goals and strategies toward a shared vision of improving student learning. This means breaking down silos, encouraging cross-state lead agency and education partner association collaboration, and fostering a statewide culture that values innovation and continuous learning. When educators and administrators collectively work towards the common goal of clarity and services/supports we enhance educational experiences that build a more cohesive and efficient educational ecosystem.
Building Student Success:
The essence of being a statewide agency focused on advising and assisting LEAs on how best to accomplish their Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals forces us to think about how we support improved student success. Rather than viewing improvements as isolated events, it encourages an ongoing cycle of evaluation, adaptation, and innovation. This iterative approach will enable our organization to proactively support and adapt to the changing needs of LEAs who must adapt to changing student needs, technological advancements, and societal shifts.
CCEE Priorities:
In summary, by embracing different approaches and helping local educational agencies think about designing a system that is accessible and understandable to all partners we can help to minimize the friction within educational systems, and can create an environment conducive to continuous improvement. The CCEE team will be highly focused on unifying efforts, identifying improvement opportunities, and fostering a culture of adaptation and evolution that allows local educational agencies to thrive, providing students with enhanced learning experiences and better preparing them for the dynamic challenges of the future.
