To deliver on California’s promise of a quality, equitable education for every student, CCEEs primary purpose is to support local educational agencies (LEAs) with achieving goals set forth in local control and accountability plans (LCAPs). This positions the organization to support over 2,258 LEAs (58 county offices of education, around 1,000 school districts, and 1,200 charter schools), serving over 6 million students. CCEE supports LEAs through programs and initiatives defined in statute and legislation primarily passed through the Budget Act.

In 2021-2022, CCEE presented quarterly updates on how the organization assists and advises local educational agencies (LEAs) with addressing educational challenges. The overall objective for the organization was to support over 500 LEAs and provide indirect support to over 2,500 LEAs. Please note that this is not an unduplicated count, as many LEAs participate in more than one program or initiative coordinated by the CCEE. The key results of this objective are measured through partnerships, resources, and engagement. The culmination of these updates yields the organization’s objective and key results (OKRs), and is summarized in the 2021-2022 Annual Report.

For the 2022-2023 year, CCEE continues with the organizational goal to support over 500 LEAs and provide indirect support to over 2,500 LEAs. The status on direct and indirect support, in addition to progress on the resources, engagement, and partnerships for all CCEE projects are presented in the quarterly reports. In addition to the over 40 projects CCEE supports, the organization established its 2023 priorities to leverage the Community Engagement Initiative (CEI), the Learning Acceleration System Grant (LASG), the Statewide System of Support (SSOS), and the Direct Technical Assistance (DTA) work with an emphasis on the Intensive Assistance Model (IAM). These priority initiatives will be highlighted in the 2022-2023 Annual Report.
