Delve into the four research-based toolkits shown to foster active learning, engagement, and mathematical thinking in any classroom setting. Explore how to integrate the 3 Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Signature Practices into your routines, and how they can help you fine tune your thinking classroom by enhancing student belonging and motivation. Twice in this series, you will participate in a team-driven Task Study utilizing summer school classrooms. The Mathematics Framework Series will support the forthcoming California State revision of the Mathematics Framework for 2022. The integrated program is intended for teacher leaders, school counselors, and principals (meeting jointly and separately). We will have regular Community of Practice meetings throughout the county to connect, learn, and design around specific major shifts proposed in the CA Math Frameworks impacting the work of teachers, counselors and principals. ELPAC New Coordinator Training (150)
Held by our county office of education (COE) partners, this training for new ELPAC coordinators will focus on preparing for summative testing, the Test Operation Management System (TOMS), and coordinator checklist activities. This training for new ELPAC coordinators is held by the Sacramento County Office of Education in partnership with the California Department of Education, El Dorado County Office of Education and Placer County Office of Education. The training will focus on preparing coordinators who have been in their role for less than 12 months for a successful administration of the ELPAC assessments by reviewing upcoming coordinator activities and allowing attendees to ask questions of experienced ELPAC coordinators. $50.00 registration fee covers the cost of a binder and food. Father Figures Are Invited - Please join us for the Virtual Father Literacy Project meeting for the project is being held virtually via zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE Early Childhood Specialist and Daniel Mendoza, Site Supervisor. Father’s (father figures) play a critical role in their child’s early literacy development through reading books with their child, engaging in conversation, and sharing stories. Fathers, please join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as we learn about the importance of early literacy and gain strategies on how to get your child excited about books! These trainings will be held virtually via Zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE | ECE Early Childhood Specialist. All participants will receive free children’s books and early literacy materials to read to their children. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation provided.
