Empowering Rural Math Education: Strategies and Resources for Success

May 8 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The adoption of California’s new Mathematics Framework requires a sharpened focus on mathematics instruction and achievement. The Rural Math Collaborative (RMC), led by Lake County and Butte County, is a partnership between the CCEE, twenty participating counties supporting small, rural local educational agencies (LEAs), and the California Mathematics Project (CMP). During this session, the RMC leadership team will describe their dynamic approach to accelerating learning in mathematics by supporting member counties and LEAs with instructional coaching, intervention, and Lesson Study. Additionally, you will learn about RMC’s newly released asynchronous course, developed by the CMP and freely available statewide, that can help your school or district deepen knowledge of the new Mathematics Framework.
