At the August 13 CCEE Governing Board meeting, a public comment letter from the Lake County Office of Education and the Rural Math Collaborative (RMC) highlighted how CCEE’s support through the Learning Acceleration System grant helped strengthen mathematics instruction across rural California. Since 2022, the RMC has grown from approximately 12 active county offices of education to 29 identified rural COEs, supported by an approach centered on trust, flexibility, continuous improvement, and responsiveness to local needs.

The letter also underscores the lasting value of building local and regional capacity. Through shared learning, instructional coaching, lesson study, professional development, and stronger partnerships, RMC has developed a network designed to continue beyond the grant period. Explore how this partnership offers lessons for strengthening local leadership, sustaining improvement, and expanding collaboration across California’s Statewide System of Support.
