Dorcas Kong serves as the Senior Specialist of Executive Projects for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). In this role, she facilitates the Data Research Learning Network (DRLN) for select districts and county offices, enhancing their capacity to make data-driven decisions, implement evidence-based practices, and drive strategic improvements to support equitable student outcomes. She also serves as a co-lead for the Data Leadership Course in the Data Literacy & Leadership Academy, building the data capacity and proficiency of K-12 education professionals to inform strategy, communicate impact, and drive instructional change.
Prior to joining the CCEE, Kong was a graduate student in the M.S.Ed. Education Policy program at the University of Pennsylvania. Dorcas worked collaboratively in a research team to examine how the inclusion of students with Autism in the general education classroom relates to student behavioral and academic outcomes. Partnering with Bristol Township School District in Pennsylvania, her research team engaged in empirical research and completed a written policy report to inform the district’s Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) corrective action plan.
Dorcas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with an emphasis in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, with a minor in Education Studies, and a Master of Science degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
