Richie Flores

System of Support Community Engagement Initiative
Richie Flores is a Program Specialist with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, where he supports the Transformative System for Equitable Educational Outcomes team. He works closely with both the Statewide System of Support (SSOS) and the Community Engagement Initiative (CEI).

Richie began his career in K-12 education as a Community Liaison for Santa Maria-Bonita School District, bridging communication between parents and the Special Education IEP team. He later moved into Human Resources, recruiting classified staff across 21 school sites. Richie also served as an Eligibility Assessor for the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services, connecting underserved community members with essential programs and benefits. Additionally, he spent several years at UC Santa Barbara serving as an Event Coordinator. Most recently, he worked in the Title I office at Whittier High School, managing federal expenditures and promoting student community engagement alongside college and career services.

In his free time, Richie enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and their dog Bentley, exploring new places with family, and traveling-especially to discover new food. He's a dedicated fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Rams. Richie holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and will soon begin a Master's in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University.
