Professional Learning Initiatives
We Partner to Provide Professional Learning Initiatives
The CCEE and the California Department of Education (CDE) are partnering to develop two key initiatives under the System of Support that will provide incredible professional learning opportunities for educators across the state: 21st Century California School Leadership Academy (21CSLA) and the Educator Workforce Investment Grant (EWIG). Here is an overview of each initiative and additional details:
21ST CENTURY CA SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (21CSLA)
21CSLA is a statewide professional learning initiative for administrators and other school leaders. The CCEE and CDE are responsible for establishing a process to organize and offer professional learning opportunities, and select providers who will apply for grants. See selected 21CSLA Grantees.
EDUCATOR WORKFORCE INVESTMENT GRANT (EWIG)
EWIG is a program to support professional learning opportunities for teachers and paraprofessionals across California. The English Learner Roadmap and special education grants introduced in the 2019-20 Budget Act were awarded. All other EWIG programs authorized in the 2019-20 Budget Act were cancelled and the remaining programs proposed in the 2020-21 Budget Proposal were withdrawn due to COVID-19.
