Description

The 2021 Budget Act included significant new funding for TK-12 schools, and the State had a clear vision for how to invest these new dollars to transform schools and the role they play in the broader community. These webinars will detail the three largest initiatives—the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, Universal Transitional Kindergarten, and the California Community Schools Partnership Program, including strategies for how to implement them to maximize the opportunities and resources for your students, families, and communities in small and rural school agencies.

The California Department of Education invites qualifying local educational agencies (LEAs), including charter schools, school districts, and county offices of education, to apply for funding for the Early Education Teacher Development Grant Program. This grant program is designed to be built upon and align with the allocation portion of the California Prekindergarten Planning and Implementation Grant Program allocated to LEAs. The goal of the grant is two-fold: (1) to increase the number of early educators available to serve California State Preschool Programs (CSPPs) and transitional kindergarten (TK) programs, and (2) to increase specific competencies for CSPP, TK, and kindergarten teachers. A Letter of Intent (LOI) is required if an applicant wishes to apply for the grant, and is due by 5 p.m. on January 19, 2022.
