History, Mission, Vision, and Values:
The California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) was established by the California State Legislature and Governor to advise and assist school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools (local educational agencies (LEAs) achieve the goals and objectives in their Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs). It was created as part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) legislation that redesigned California ‘s school funding formulas to ensure that there would be sufficient support for students who required additional resources to ensure their success.

As the statewide agency solely charged with assisting LEAs in need of support, CCEE provides universal, targeted, and intensive supports and resources for local educational agencies (LEAs) through the work of our three Centers:
Centers for Educational Excellence
This center builds capacity and support for local educational agencies (LEAs) currently receiving and in need of direct technical assistance.
Help LEAs and county offices of education (COEs) achieve their Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals for students historically underserved.
Identify and use school and district turnaround principles that effectively build capacity of system leaders to address academic and social emotional well-being of all students.
Build a statewide professional learning infrastructure that supports COEs/LEAs in attending to evidence-based practices.
This center implements a statewide approach to improving local educational agencies’ (LEAs) capacity by collaboratively developing, delivering, sharing, and spotlighting research-based practices that demonstrate the power to improve outcomes.
Identify strategies and resources that advise and assist county offices of education (COEs)/local educational agencies (LEAs) in meeting their Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals for students historically underserved.
Expand partnerships and networks to provide rapid responses to support teaching and learning.
Support CCEE communication and engagement strategies to provide rapid responses to increase accessibility to and use of resources.
This center facilitates the development of a shared vision for implementation of the Statewide System of Support (SSOS) that develops coordinated actions resulting in equitable educational student outcomes.
Facilitate the development and implementation of structures, relationships, and processes to support the System of Support for all LEAs to effectively meet their LCAP goals for students historically underserved.
Identify and distribute promising practices of county offices of education (COEs)/local educational agencies (LEAs) that build innovation, collaboration, and implementation across the state.
Build a coherent statewide system of support that coordinates, collaborates, and integrates resources and strategies to improve educational outcomes for all students.
