Overview

The Equity Leads initiative, established in 2023 through Senate Bill 114, Section 79, has secured funding for fiscal year 2023-24, with a grant award period spanning from July 1, 2024, to July 30, 2029. This initiative, which is part of California’s Statewide System of Support, is allocated $2 million annually. The Leads from Kings, Los Angeles, and Sonoma counties will support LEAs in addressing racial disparities and enhancing educational opportunities and outcomes. The Equity Leads will also enhance resources for educator development and track the effectiveness of local control and accountability plan goals, specifically aiding schools that benefit from Equity Multiplier Funding.
