Designing Career Technical Education (CTE) for All: Universal Design in the classroom

UDL (Universal Design for Learning) offers a framework to support access, engagement, and meaningful participation for CTE (Career Technical Education). This universally designed session will guide participants in exploring how to utilize the UDL framework in CTE classrooms to minimize barriers to access and increase successful outcomes for all learners.
By prioritizing access, variability and building learner agency, UDL gives practitioners considerations to design classrooms, courses and CTE pathways where students are at the center of their own learning. Applying the UDL framework to CTE will positively impact the short-term and long-term outcomes for ALL learners.
In this session participants will have access to practical tools and guidance to proactively identify and address barriers within their classrooms and courses as well as network with others in the field working to refine and improve CTE within their context.
