Anthony Tran is the Assistant Director of Data for Quality Improvement for the Teaching, Learning, & Leading Center at the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). His work focuses on supporting Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in Direct Technical Assistance with developing and sustaining systems that integrate data analytics, governance, literacy, and management.
With a background in data systems, research, evaluation, and policy, he brings over a decade of experience supporting schools and districts in data management, accountability, and program improvement. He has provided technical assistance to local educational agencies across California, guiding them through implementation and improvement cycles for change. His approach emphasizes asking better questions, using data purposefully, and empowering educators to make informed decisions that translate into meaningful and impactful actions. He has led initiatives on data infrastructure, continuous improvement across school systems, and systems alignment work.
Prior to joining CCEE, he served as Data Scientist for a county office of education, a Director of Assessment and Accountability at a unified school district and multiple analyst roles in other large districts. He holds a Master’s degree from Claremont Graduate University, and a Bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Anthony’s professional learning journey includes extensive training in improvement science, equity coaching, and data visualization—skills he brings to every partnership with districts and leaders. He is dedicated to helping educational systems better serve all students through the power of thoughtful inquiry and continuous improvement.
