Jim Shen serves as the Assistant Director of Data for Continuous Improvement for the CCEE. In this role, he supports the implementation of research and evidence to strengthen instructional practice and school leadership for the local educational agencies that CCEE serves. He works
with CCEE staff, statewide agencies, and other partners to find opportunities to support internal research and data analysis initiatives and better integrate research, data, and practice.
Prior to joining the CCEE, Jim was a Research Analyst at the Santa Clara County Office of Education where he provided evaluation and monitoring support for over a dozen projects and programs. His career began as a Research Data Manager at the Center for Education Policy Analysis at the Stanford Graduate School of Education, before moving on to research management roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jim earned his master’s degree in political science and bachelor’s degree in history and international relations from University of California, San Diego.
