Kimberly Salomonson is a Senior Advisor at the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). She works with state, county, and local education agencies to build coherence, promote clarity, and strengthen integration across California’s Statewide System of Support, fostering continuous improvement that drives positive student outcomes.

Salomonson brings more than 25 years of experience in systems improvement, capacity building, and collaborative educational leadership. Prior to joining CCEE, she served as a Program Director at WestEd, partnering with states and districts to design and sustain Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and continuous improvement infrastructures. Salomonson began her career in Sanger Unified School District, holding several roles including as part of the districts executive leadership team, supporting strategic decision-making, policy and plan development, and operational oversight.

Salomonson was locally recognized as Educator of the Year, served, by Governor appointment, the California Advisory Commission on Special Education (ACSE) and has contributed to publications, multiple media outlets and presented at select conferences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in school psychology, and an administrative credential as a Chancellor’s Fellow.

Beyond titles, experience, and degrees, Kimberly believes the most important thing is students - their capacity to learn at high levels and the shared responsibility of state agencies, county and local educators, families, and communities to make that possible.
