Are We Over-Testing?: Balanced Assessment System Pilot Study to Answer Over-Testing Hypothesis in California Districts

Is over-testing hindering instructional time? The California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, in partnership with the Center for Assessment, launched a Balanced Assessment System pilot to evaluate the quality of local assessments. Bakersfield City School District, a pilot participant, will share its findings on eliminating redundant or unnecessary assessments, freeing up time for more instructionally meaningful practices. Attendees will gain access to an online toolkit designed to help districts review and align their assessment systems with local educational goals.
