Developing High Quality Individual Transition Plans (ITP): A Trainer-of-Trainers Series

April 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

Why Attend?

With California Assembly Bill No. 438 (effective July 1, 2025), IEP teams are now charged with considering if the student would benefit from measurable postsecondary goals and transition services as students enter high school rather than at age 16. This shift ensures earlier, more effective postsecondary planning for students with exceptional needs.

What to Expect?

This 4-part training series equips Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to train secondary staff, including middle school educators, in developing and implementing meaningful ITPs. Covering Before, During, and After the IEP, sessions focus on:

🔹 Session 1: Building the Foundation – Self-determination, transition assessments, vision statements
🔹 Session 2: Setting the Course – Postsecondary goals, transition planning activities
🔹 Session 3: Connecting the Pieces – Linking goals, identifying services
🔹 Session 4: Implementation & Compliance – Course of study, Indicator 13, effective implementation

Who Should Attend?

Special education administrators, middle & high school educators, transition specialists, and IEP team members supporting transition planning.

This series empowers educators to guide students toward a clear, supported postsecondary path.
