Improvement Science Basics – Fall 2025

Improvement science is a powerful tool for educators seeking to identify areas of improvement, implement evidence-based interventions, and measure progress. This course is designed to provide educators with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective change agents in their classrooms, schools, and districts, and to make a positive impact on student learning and outcomes.
This course consists of three, two-day online sessions and is open to public educators (districts, charters, SELPAs, COEs and State Agencies) in California. Between sessions, teams practice applying their learning with the support from SIL improvement facilitators. Organizations should plan to send teams of 2-4 participants that will work on a shared problem of practice. The time commitment between sessions ranges from 5-10 hours. Please review the complete course description before submitting your team’s application:  https://bit.ly/ISBOverview25-26.Â
Selected teams will be sent a notification email that includes a link to register for the course. If you have any questions about this professional learning opportunity, please contact us at [email protected].
*Please note, teams with a problem area focused on Students with Disabilities are given priorities with admissions, but all are welcome to apply.
