RICA Test Prep Class – Written Option

This RICA Prep Class is based on the RICA content specifications. Participants will review key subject matter, become familiar with the structure and content of the test, and identify which individual areas he or she needs to focus. Participants will work through practice test questions, providing detailed explanations that guide them on how to apply their knowledge to the specific question types they will encounter on the real exam.

Father Literacy Project

Father Figures Are Invited - Please join us for the Virtual Father Literacy Project meeting for the project is being held virtually via zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE Early Childhood Specialist and Daniel Mendoza, Site Supervisor. Father’s (father figures) play a critical role in their child’s early literacy development through reading books with their child, engaging in conversation, and sharing stories. Fathers, please join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as we learn about the importance of early literacy and gain strategies on how to get your child excited about books! These trainings will be held virtually via Zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE | ECE Early Childhood Specialist. All participants will receive free children’s books and early literacy materials to read to their children. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation provided.

Number Talks K-2 (R89)

Join us to learn how to implement Number Talks in your classroom. Number Talks strengthen student ideas about numbers and provide opportunities for students to communicate their mathematical thinking. Teachers will learn how to leverage number talks to support unfinished learning and fluency, as they reengage students with mathematics. The book includes more than 850 purposefully-designed number talks and includes access to videos featuring 19 number talks filmed in classrooms.

Twice in this series, you will participate in a team-driven Task Study utilizing summer school classrooms. Deepen your understanding of the macro & micro moves found in the (BTC) practices so that you can apply them in your own classroom.
