Explore how to integrate the 3 Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Signature Practices into your routines, and how they can help you fine tune your thinking classroom by enhancing student belonging and motivation. Twice in this series, you will participate in a team-driven Task Study utilizing summer school classrooms. Deepen your understanding of the macro & micro moves found in the (BTC) practices so that you can apply them in your own classroom.
This universally designed professional learning series will provide an overview of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Participants will explore the foundational concepts of UDL and how to design learning experiences through the lens of UDL to create more inclusive and equitable learning environments for all.
Co-author, Majalise Tolan, will facilitate this virtual professional learning series. The series will consist of six, 90-minute sessions based on the best-selling book She Leads: The Women's Guide to a Career in Educational Leadership by Dr. Rachael George and Majalise Tolan.

Earn your Preliminary Administrative Services Credential with the option of concurrent coursework. This program is offered in partnership with our local K-12 school districts. Candidates will participate in an authentic administrative fieldwork experience.

RICA Video Performance Assessment Prep virtual sessions target participants who have struggled to pass the RICA Written Exam. Participants will review key subject matter, become familiar with the structure and content of the test, and identify which individual areas he or she needs to focus. Participants will work through practice test questions, providing detailed explanations that guide them on how to apply their knowledge to the specific question types they will encounter on the real exam.
The Mathematics Framework Series will support the forthcoming California State revision of the Mathematics Framework for 2022. The integrated program is intended for teacher leaders, school counselors, and principals (meeting jointly and separately). We will have regular Community of Practice meetings throughout the county to connect, learn, and design around specific major shifts proposed in the CA Math Frameworks impacting the work of teachers, counselors and principals. Newcomers - immigrant students in their first years of US schooling - face distinct academic, administrative, and outside-of-school needs that are frequently unmet by educational systems. This workshop, designed for site and district administrators and EL Directors/Coordinators, provides an overview of theory, research, and best practices in newcomer education. Guidance for site and district administrators focuses on data, program design, placement, socio-emotional supports, and collaboration with community partners to support non-academic needs.

Held by our county office of education (COE) partners, this training for new ELPAC coordinators will focus on preparing for summative testing, the Test Operation Management System (TOMS), and coordinator checklist activities. This training for new ELPAC coordinators is held by the Sacramento County Office of Education in partnership with the California Department of Education, El Dorado County Office of Education and Placer County Office of Education. The training will focus on preparing coordinators who have been in their role for less than 12 months for a successful administration of the ELPAC assessments by reviewing upcoming coordinator activities and allowing attendees to ask questions of experienced ELPAC coordinators. $50.00 registration fee covers the cost of a binder and food. This assets-oriented two-day series focuses on instructional strategies for Integrated and Designated English Language Development (ELD) at the secondary level. Topics include ELD standards, understanding integration of language development and content knowledge, and learning high-leverage instructional strategies that build comprehension, support active engagement, intentionally build language, and focus on all four domains of language (oracy, listening/comprehension, reading, and writing). Father Figures Are Invited - Please join us for the Virtual Father Literacy Project meeting for the project is being held virtually via zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE Early Childhood Specialist and Daniel Mendoza, Site Supervisor. Father’s (father figures) play a critical role in their child’s early literacy development through reading books with their child, engaging in conversation, and sharing stories. Fathers, please join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as we learn about the importance of early literacy and gain strategies on how to get your child excited about books! These trainings will be held virtually via Zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE | ECE Early Childhood Specialist. All participants will receive free children’s books and early literacy materials to read to their children. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation provided.
